Framing FRUSTRATION!

Okay....so today I am very FRUSTRATED and I need to vent a little! I haven't posted in over a month because life has been crazy busy, but also because I haven't had anything to post...meaning NO, or very LITTLE progress on our house!

The framing crew our contractor hired consists of two old men. Just so you have a visual, Hank likes to wear cut off belly shirts, short shorts and a bandanna around his long curly hair. Barry is pretty clean cut, he's just missing the majority of his teeth and likes to smile a lot. These two "TREATS" were supposed to have everything completed in 3 weeks, however....It's been EIGHT, and they're still not done.

They told us they like to fish in the mornings, so they usually show up to work around 11 o'clock or so. Then comes the tiring task of unloading all their equipment and getting set up for the day. Usually by the time "set-up" is complete they are both TIRED and HUNGRY, so....it's LUNCH time. Often times lunch break is a good 2 hours, so by 2 o'clock in the afternoon they are RESTED, REFRESHED, and READY to begin their work day! Unfortunately this only leaves them 4 hours to work until it's time to pack up and head home by seven. Keep in mind, this isn't counting the 5 or 6 SMOKE breaks they both take.

LAZY is an understatement! They other day they spent almost a full hour building a FIRE to warm their hands (in the middle of June)....or roast marshmallows for all I know. It took them 3 days to build 2 saw horses so they'd have a place to cut wood. One day, the fishin must not have been good, cause they actually worked an 8 hour day. We were excited to see what they had accomplished. We searched the entire house and could not find one thing different from the day before!

I honestly don't know how these guys can make a living. They get paid the same amount whether they complete the process in 3 weeks or 10. We are so FRUSTRATED...but we have done all we can to speed this process up, now I guess we just sit back and wait a little longer! As frustrating as this whole thing has been...we have definitely had our laughs about it, I have no idea where our contractor picked these guys up at!

ON A BRIGHTER NOTE.....

This is my latest 4-D ultrasound picture.
She seems to like cuddling up to my placenta...kinda sick, but cool!

Oh, I'm so sorry this is such a long and FRUSTRATING process...I loved the visual you painted of these two...it made the story that much more entertaining! Hopefully soon they won't have to build fires in June because one of these days hopefully summer will arrive...in the meantime, your baby girl is so sweet, isn't technology amazing?

I feel your pain of the blogging rut! not much going on around here either!

I love how you can make all of us laugh even though it is frustrating for you. My personal favorite is the building of the fire in June...I wish I would have seen that one. :)

I love construction workers I swear they are their own breed! You must go to the Circle of life cause no one else will give ultrasounds in 4D and more than one. I love them, we see Jed. So were is the house?

Builders or I guess I should say contractors really are a pain! How frustrating indeed!

That 4D pic of your sweet baby girl is crazy!. My Dr. just stuck with the original ultrasounds so I never got any 3D or 4D shots of Tessa. Maybe next kid I will ask if she'll do one.

Im glad she is nice and comfy to your placenta:) That is sick and I hated saying it:) j.k Do you guys have any names yet??? Hope you are doing good. Building is frustrating, that is why I don't want to do it again for a really long time!

I heard about your framers. Mike told me that your contractor told you your house was about 6 weeks away from being done. Hm... wonder what he has up his sleeve to accomplish that... On a brighter note, great job venting! It's funny as heck for all of us to read.
